Tickets for World Games Go On Sale

Horse fans from around the world snapped up tens of thousands of tickets for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games on Friday, the first day that tickets were available to the general public.

The world’s most prestigious equestrian competition will be held at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington beginning Sept.25, 2010.

“Ticket sales have already far exceeded our expectations,” World Games 2010 Foundation CEO Jamie Link said in a news release. “By the end of this first day of public sales, more than 20 percent of tickets for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games will be reserved.”

Eight world championships in equestrian sport will be held, and organizers said tickets have been reserved for each of the 49 competition sessions available.

Sessions for final rounds of competition are showing particularly strong interest, as well as opening and closing ceremonies and the reining freestyle exhibition. Prices depend upon the event and range from $25-$150 for the opening ceremonies.

Tickets are on sale at www.alltechfeigames.com, www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets and the Ticketmaster hotline at (800) 745-3000.
