Blue Grass Airport Lands American Eagle Service to Chicago
American Eagle, a regional affiliate of American Airlines, will add non-stop service between Blue Grass Airport in Lexington and Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, beginning April 6.
American Eagle will add two, daily roundtrip flights between Lexington and Chicago, said Brian Ellestad, deputy director for air service and community relations at Blue Grass Airport.
The airline will join United Airlines in providing service between Lexington and Chicago.
The American Eagle service will be implemented in advance of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Lexington in September 2010.
Ellestad said other airlines are considering adding flights and seats to serve travelers coming to Lexington for the equestrian games.
