Sturley Plans to Ride her way into Worlds

The next year is all planned out for Ruth Sturley.

The 63-year-old Annan native and her horse RBF Super Sport will be entering as many endurance races as possible, hoping to accumulate enough points to qualify for the world championships in 2010.

Canada will only send six riders to the endurance race and the sextet with the most points next summer will qualify.

“We continue to accumulate points by entering rides,” Sturley said Thursday.

“We’ll all be doing our best to get as many points as we can between now and when they close the door for ranking us next year.”

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 runs from Sept. 25 to Oct. 10 at Lexington’s Kentucky Horse Park
