Actor and Horseman Robert Duvall Visits the Hampton Classic Horse Show

The Hampton Classic Horse Show has a regular roster of celebrities who drop by every year, including Bruce Springsteen, whose daughter, Jessica, is a top junior rider; Alec Baldwin and Kelly Ripa.

But there’s a new face in the VIP area this weekend, actor Robert Duvall. Unlike some of the other boldface names who seem more interested in showing off than in the show itself, Duvall is an eclectic equestrian who can discuss everything from polo to cutting cattle and show jumping with authoritative enjoyment.

“He loves, loves, loves horses,” said Scott Evans, a friend who is head of the Equestrian Aid Foundation. “He’s all about the outdoors.”

Duvall came to the show with his pal, “Today Show” contributor Jill Rappaport, a Hamptons resident who was at a signing for her book, “Jack and Jill,” about her dog who was a cancer survivor…
