Kentucky Delegation Attends Equestrian Championships in England

A delegation of Kentucky officials, including Gov. Steve Beshear and his wife, are attending the Alltech FEI European Jumping and Dressage Championships at Windsor Castle in England this week.

The event is one of the last major preliminary championships before the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park.

“This event in London gives us a huge opportunity to begin wowing the crowd,” Beshear said in a news release. “We have three goals: to reassure anybody nervous about the games leaving Europe that Kentucky knows how to host an international event; to give competitors, sponsors and spectators a taste of the many attractions Kentucky will offer; and to ramp up the interest in the weeks before the public ticket sale.”
