Airport Tarmac Construction Complete
After a 14-day closure, the Georgetown- Scott County Regional Airport is open again but construction continues on the nearly $7.4 million project that is expected to “meet the needs of the area.”
“We’re expecting it to be all done by the end of the year,” airport board chairman Jim Calloway said. “A lot of this is to meet the need, but also to prepare for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.”
The construction is under three parts, a terminal ($1.2 million), a new parking apron and hanger area for corporate aircrafts ($3.2 million) and a widening and resurfacing of the runway ($3.1 million)…
