The countdown clock to the World Equestrian Games now reads 430 days.  Tuesday brought the first shake down for games organizers.  Games Foundation CEO Jamie Link gave the initial trial run an “A minus.”

Link says test events can give the organization putting on next fall’s 16 day event a “good taste,” but nothing can replicate the real event.  Tuesday’s team reining competition was the first test event as well as the first competition in the new indoor arena.

Riders called the facility world class, while World Equestrian Games Deputy Director of Reining, Nici Kennedy, said it was a “very successful” first test.  Kennedy was in Kentucky from WEG headquarters in Switzerland.

This will be the first games contested outside of Europe.  The event brings together the world championships in eight equestrian disciplines once every four years…
