WEG Security Planners Prepare for Anything as 2010 Games Draw Near

Lexington, KY – Kevin Tyo understands “the worry business.” The New York native who has been hired by the Alltech World Equestrian Games Foundation to consult on security for the 2010 event has made a career out of it.

“It’s my job to worry,” Tyo said, “and to ask other people to worry some.”

This will not be Tyo’s first event venue. The New York state native started working on concerts in college 20 years ago, and he has just completed working the Super Bowl. Along the way he gained insight into international competition on a grand scale, working the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta as well as managing security operations inside the Olympic Village and Olympic Square at the Salt Lake Winter Games in 2002.

Tyo will share the “worry” with the Kentucky State Police for security at the Kentucky Horse Park, and with Lexington Police Chief Ronnie Bastin when the issues involve traffic flow, security outside the Games, and related events in Lexington….
