Bred in the U.S.A. and Ready to Take on The World

Aiken, SC (December 12, 2008) – In the competitive world of dressage, Raison d’Etre, who was bred in the U.S., is an anomaly. This tall, elegant, three-quarter Thoroughbred belongs to international competitor and trainer Elly Schobel of Aiken, South Carolina. He is argueably one of the best young FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale) horses in the U.S. and was bred in Lexington, Kentucky. Schobel is proud of this fact. “There are so many talented horses right here in the United States,” she said, “and we should be developing more of them into champions.”

Raison d’Etre (called Ralee around the barn) won his first Grand Prix this year at age 10 and will compete a full schedule in 2009. “They are perfect together,” says Anne Gribbons, well-known and respected international competitor and Olympic-level judge. “Elly and Raison will be an international level team. And their training should be peaking just at the right time for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010.” The Games will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, minutes from where Ralee was bred…
